In 1998 Rod was 28 years old and had a one year old daughter.

After spending seven years at Leeds United, Rod moved to Ranger FC at the end of the 1998 season, he remained there until 2001.
Rod continued his career with Bolton Wanderers and then Gillingham before retiring from his playing career in 2004
Rod was also an International player for the England national team.
Rod enjoys family life with his wife, two daughters and his son.
