In 1998, Leeds United Chairman Peter Ridsdale’s 13 year old son Matthew, had joined his father for a day out travelling with the Leeds United team to London.
Matt had enjoyed an afternoon of 10-pin bowling with Leeds United’s corporate guests and the match commentators (Bryn Law and Leeds United legend Norman Hunter) before the evening kick-off at West Ham
I was 13 years old on the night of the plane crash.
I left school at 18 and worked in Corporate & Financial Communications in the City of London. I became a Director of Tavistock, a leading firm and was latterly Joint CEO there from 2015-2017.
I left Tavistock to join Camelot, operator of the National Lottery. I was Executive Director there and had five and a half terrific years, as a member of the executive board. I joined Sky Group as Group Chief Corporate Affairs Officer in March this year. I now work across all of Sky’s interests (sport, news, entertainment, broadband and mobile).
In my family life, I am engaged to be married next year to Nikky and have an 8 year old step daughter Minna. We all live in Islington in London.
While it took me a while to get comfortable flying again, I have travelled across the world with work – and regularly for personal trips. I can’t say I love it but thanks to John, at least I get to do it.
With best wishes and sending fond wishes for a Happy Birthday.
