In 1998 Alan was 52 years old and worked as a Physio for Leeds United
Alan had been married to Shirley since the 1970’s.
Alan and Shirley’s daughter Adele was 23 year old and their son Miles was 20.
Alan recalls that Adele had just arrived home for the easter holiday from University in Birmingham
Alan remained at Leeds United as their physio until retiring in 2014.
In 2020, during lockdown Alan wrote a book “My Journey – From Pavement to Premier League” detailing his life as one of the longest serving physios in the Football League, including almost three decades at Leeds United.
All proceeds of his book are being donated to Gary Kelly Cancer Support Centre and Sarcoma UK, the Motor Neurone Disease Association.

Alan and Shirley enjoy spending time with their two lovely grandsons Alex who is 11 and Seb is 7.
